Lambert in London!

2 Feb

So today didn’t start off particularly well. I still felt ill and about halfway through the day I suddenly realised that Ramin doesn’t do Thursdays. How on earth I managed to miss that when I booked, I don’t know, but needless to say I was a tad disappointed. Still, I managed to rally reasonably well, at least until I found out soon afterwards that Liam was off sick… Gutted doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’d been dragging myself through the day, pushing myself on with the promise of Mr. Tamne at the end of it and I was totally devastated that he wasn’t going to be on. I love Scott Garnham too, but he’s not Liam. I was nearly in tears by the end of the day, watching Adam Lambert’s Heat twitter takeover, convinced I was going to miss him as well as everyone else…

Except then the unthinkable happened. I was walking down to the theatre from Holborn praying desperately that Adam hadn’t left Heat yet while simultaneously trying to convince myself I wouldn’t be horribly disappointed if he had. Then, to my complete surprise and elation, when we turned the corner, I immediately caught sight of the reasonably sized crowd by the main doors, which I promptly joined. I only had to wait a few minutes before he appeared and he was so damn CLOSE! I started snapping pictures immediately, being towards the back of the crowd and not expecting to get much more of a chance, except everyone was taking pictures and no one seemed to be getting stuff signed. He looked up, asking if anyone wanted anything signed, so I shoved my CD forward and he took it from me straight away, signed it and passed it back! I got a few more awesome pictures (and dear MERLIN he’s looking’ hot right now) but wasn’t pushy enough to get a photo with him. I did however touch his leather-jacket clad back in a rather tentative attempt to get his attention. Didn’t work, but point is I TOUCHED HIM!!! So, it’s a shame about the photo because, really what’s the likelihood of me ever getting a chance like that again, but still, it was an absolutely incredible experience and I can’t believe how lucky I was. I’ll definitely have to try that again (if I hadn’t been at work I’d have been there much earlier, despite the freezing temperatures)! I mean, just look at him…!

Adam Lambert Outside Heat Magazine

Anyhoo, Les Mis was still fabulous even without Liam (*sob*), though I think it helped that I really do have a fondness for Scott Garnham and I was pleased to see Fra Fee as Marius (though he didn’t seem to be quite on top form). Hadley Fraser was spellbinding as always and I might just end up giving in and coming back one more time, though only if I buy tickets on the day knowing Liam will definitely be on. On a slightly different note, I did at least get the chance to buy one of the new Ramin-ified glossy brochures and they’re very lovely indeed :D . I’m still not sure Valjean and Javert are supposed to be that attractive, especially when they’re in their old man make up, but they’re both rather delicious specimens of manhood no matter how their faces are painted. Liam was also looking as gorgeous as always and there were a handful of new pictures of him thanks to the group scenes with Ramin. Anyhoo, in the end I enjoyed the performance far more than I expected to given my mood for most of the day and my extreme disappointment, though I think it’s also partly because I knew so many of the cast. It’s almost like going to see an, admittedly rather miserable, version of Hair and I behaved as such at the stage door, perhaps mistakenly, given how ridiculous I felt doing it! I didn’t bother with autographs, but I did get pictures with nearly the entire male cast and all the leading women. I missed Christopher Jacobsen who was on for Valjean (and killed it during Bring Him Home, the ultimate test of a good Valjean), but that was mostly because I wasn’t sure if I’d recognise him so once I’d got everyone I knew, I decided not to bother hanging around. Could have been a mistake, but meh, I met Adam Lambert, so who cares?!

I still can’t really believe it happened and it was all so fast it feels like a fleeting dream I can barely remember now. I didn’t get trembly the way I do when I get within ten feet of Liam, but he certainly seemed larger than life… Though not quite to the extent Gary Barlow did when I met him that day before the first air-play of Patience (I won a competition, the entire thing was a blur except for the way it felt when he squeezed me while posing for photos. And I mean really squeezed, pressed his cheek right up against mine and wrapped his gorgeous fingers around my upper arm… *sigh*, but anyhoo, that was many years ago and I’m not talking about the Captain right now!). So, Adam… I may have trouble believing it happened, but I’ve got some gorgeous photos and an autograph to prove it did and given the massive smile I haven’t quite managed to wipe off my face, there’s clearly some part of me that knows it really happened. Adam frickin’ Lambert! I’ll take a hundred days as crummy as this one was if they all end like that!

Signed!

Peace, loVe loVe, happiness and glitter, baby!

K xx

PS. And for my next mission, should I ever have anything like the opportunity… Tommy Joe Ratliff ;)

PPS. Don’t think I’ve actually mentioned Adam’s new single yet, but just in case I don’t get around to giving it the full post it deserves, may it just be recorded here that I frickin’ love Better Than I Know Myself. Cannot stop listening to it and I’m even more desperate to hear the rest of the album now!

The Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe’s Swan Lake

10 Aug

Just in case I haven’t already mentioned it enough, I absolutely adore Swan Lake. Recently, I seem to have made it a sort of unacknowledged mini-mission to see as many productions of it as possible and tonight was another example. I’d actually seen a youtube video of an acrobatic performance which in all probability was by the Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe of China that I saw today at the Coliseum.

It was an interesting interpretation with the prince spending the majority of the first scene searching the far east for the swan-princess that he has seen in his dreams. The second act, with all the music of the national dances, was more of a party thrown by the evil wizard, or in this case, black eagle.

It was somewhere between a ballet and a circus show, with contortionists, jugglers and aerialists performing alongside roller-skating swans, ballerinas and gymnasts. Weirdly, Odile’s pirouettes (or the black swan as she is called in the programme) was one of the least impressive moments of the performance. The highlights for me were many, but I’ll try and list a few here. We missed a lot of the scene early on in the docks as we were in the back row of the upper circle and couldn’t see that high up on the stage, but once the prince set sail, the women dancing the part of the waves was absolutely beautiful. During his travels, I particularly enjoyed the performers rolling around in various hoops (think ‘Said It All’ from The Circus tour multiplied by several different people) and the multitude of women in red making patterns with yellow hats. The second scene is often my favourite, what with the music and the swans and this was no exception. The ballerinas were all wearing incredible ankle length dresses with roller-skates hidden underneath. It allowed them to glide across the stage even more smoothly and it was rather breathtaking to behold. The pas de deux between the white swan and the princess, was even more spectacular. The dance of the cygnets was both phenomenally impressive and sort of sweet, with four acrobatic frogs taking the place of the young swans. There were however, four men dressed in tutus who appeared every so often performing a parody of the traditional ballet, such as the way the cygnets link hands across each other’s bodies.

The acrobatics involved where absolutely incredible and I cannot even begin to describe how impressive it is to see a ballerina slowly rotating en pointe on top of her male counterpart’s head. The stunts were all impressive, but the pas de deuxs between the prince and the swan (danced by Wei Baohua and Wu Zhengdan respectively) were something else.

I’m very very glad I made time to see this show and I would highly recommend it, even if you’re not a ballet fan. It’s as much a circus act or stunt show as it is a dance production and I defy you to leave the theatre unimpressed at the end of the night.

And so, next up (other than my cousin’s wedding tomorrow which I’m also looking forward to – I adore weddings *soppy grin*) will hopefully be Pygmalion on Monday, Love Never Dies (for the last time *sob*) on Tuesday and another wedding (where I get to be bridesmaid for the first time ever *squee*) next weekend. Whether I make it to a third show or not is anyone’s guess, but sleep might be advisable at some point, so I shall try and resist the lure of the West End. I’ve not been so successful at that in the past though, so I wouldn’t hold your breath. Still got plenty to see before all the closures at the end of the month. I’ve also finally booked my tickets for MAD Trust’s West End Bares. I’ve been meaning to do it for a while, but Ramin Karimloo announced today on twitter that he’ll be there. Needless to say, I then made it my business to ensure I bought a ticket before they sold out!

In other news, I found out today that Adam Lambert is in a DVD recording of The Ten Commandments – The Musical (not one I’ve heard of before, I have to admit). He plays Joshua, opposite Val Kilmer as Moses and dear heaven is he good in it (Adam that is. From the few seconds I’ve seen of Val Kilmer, I’m not expecting to be impressed). Not that I’ve seen much of it at all, but Adam’s solo song ‘Is Anybody Listening’ is on youtube and I was totally blown away by it. I can’t believe I’ve never even heard of it before, but the DVD is now on it’s way and I shan’t be kept in he dark much longer. If that man doesn’t end up back in musical theatre at some point in his career it would be a horrific shame. I would happily fly to New York to see him in pretty much anything if he ever decides to take Broadway by storm. Though of course, a West End debut would be infinitely preferable (that way I can spend the £500+ I’d save on flights and hotels on a fistul of top price tickets instead… Ah, if only!). Anyway, in case you’re interested, I shall leave you with the video I mentioned. Just press play and prepare to be dazzled…

Peace, loVe loVe and happiness,

K xx

PS. Apparently this is my 100th post. How exciting! Of course the stats will all get messed up when I finally post all my backdated America Trip blogs (it WILL happen), but as of today, this is the 100th blog I’ve posted, so yay! I actually can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since I first started this place. It doesn’t feel like anywhere near that long ago *dreamy sigh*.

Lend Me A Tenor

1 Aug

Starting my post-Take That theatre marathon with a trip to the Gielgud might not have been the most sensible thing I’ve done recently, but it turned out not to be quite as terrible an idea as I first thought. Of course it brought back a lot of memories, from catching sight of Mr. Stage Door Man on my pre-show wander, to the squeaky bin lid in the stalls level Ladies that always reminds me of the beginning of the Aquarius recording, to that seat from which I gave Steelicious my number. Still, I adore this theatre specifically because of all the wonderful memories and I love coming back, no matter what the show. I’d also forgotten quite how much I love an all singing, all dancing, feel good musical. It’s been months since I last saw a musical and even longer since I saw a cheeful one. I left with the post-tour blues quieted, at least for the moment, and a real desire to sort out all the millions of other shows I want to see in the near future.

Lend Me A Tenor didn’t start off quite as wonderfully as one might have hoped. The opening number, in my opinion at least, was a bit of a non-starter, but fortunately that was not a hint of what was to come. Once the opening scene was over and done with, the show picked up rapidly. The cast were fabulous, the music catchy and the story, though a tad predictable, highly amusing and enjoyable. Unfortunately, it closes on Saturday (yet another victim of the Gielgud undeserved early closure curse), but if you get a chance, pop along and see it before then. It’s well worth a visit.

Cassidy Janson as Maggie Saunders was the first to show how good the show was about to become with an early solo number that greatly impressed. Sophie-Louise Dann as soprano Diane DiVane was also phenomenal and her mish-mash of opera arias in the second act was absolutely breathtaking. Matthew Kelly was surprisingly good, especially since I didn’t even know he could sing. Michael Matus played Italian tenor Tito Merelli, with a breathtaking voice and engaging performance. Joanna Riding was also superb as his wife Maria. Damian Humbley, however, as Max Garber, was without doubt the star. His voice was simply incredible and forcibly reminded me why I love musicals quite so much. His duet with Merelli and subsequent reprises of ‘Be Yourself’ were just fantastic and I consider myself honoured to have heard this cast performing it live.

The stage door afterwards was also a trip down memory lane and despite the lack of hippie hyperness, it was still a highly enjoyable one. The cast were all incredibly friendly and perfectly happy to sign autographs and pose for photos, even though they all seemed to have plenty of industry friends there to see them. I actually recognised one guy, but couldn’t for the life of me work out where from. I briefly ended up talking to him and he said he’d been in Phantom, Les Mis, A Little Night Music and various concerts. While it’s possible I saw him in Phantom, I doubt that’s where I recognise him from. My best guess is either one of the concerts I’ve been to or something else that he didn’t mention. At the time I thought it might have been the Kissing Dance, but now I’m wondering if perhaps it was the Perfect Pitch concert. Either way, he told me I should come to the Dress Circle Benefit on Sunday and I’m already kicking myself for not booking yet. I just hope there are some cheap tickets left as I really don’t want to miss it!

Anyhoo, while I’m writing and on the subject of other shows, I just realised I never mentioned Carlos Acosta’s Premieres Plus that I impulse bought a ticket for last week. Honestly, I wasn’t overly impressed, but I think it was my own mistake for being seduced by his name. He’s a wonderful dancer, of course, but I’m not really a fan of modern dance and I’d really rather watch him in a ballet. The show was short and not particularly cheap, though it’s the first time I’ve been to the Coliseum, at least since I’ve been old enough to be aware of it, and I very much enjoyed my visit. It’s a beautiful theatre and I’d love to go back and see something a little more to my taste. The show was split into several short sections and only one particularly caught my fancy, which seemed to be the shortest of the lot. I’ve forgotten what it was called, but it was some sort of interpretation of the passionate nature of relationships, which was very much up my street. The one type of modern dance (or any kind of dance, really) that I always enjoy is the romantic and/or passionate kind.

So anyways, walking through Theatre Land after the show, I could barely keep the smile off of my face – from walking past the Queens Theatre and seeing the crowd at the stage door that I will be one of in a few days time to catching a brief but satisfying glimpse of the delectable Oliver Thornton at the Palace stage door. I still want to see all the various plays and opera house shows on my list, but I’m definitely going to need to organise some more musicals for the near future. With no Take That, Adam Lambert’s new album still a way off (though he premiered a new track ‘Outlaw of Love’ on Friday which is gorgeously awesome – see below) and Harry Potter 7.2 finally out, I need to get back in touch with one of my other loves, the musical. Speaking of musicals, I’m dying to head back to Broadway again, though I know I can’t any time soon. Other than the fact that it’s still killing me that the tribe are back on Broadway and I’m not there to see it, it seems as though DanRad finishes his ‘How To Succeed in Business’ run in January and will be replaced, at least for a few weeks, by none other than Darren Criss. I’m absolutely delighted for him, but I have to admit I’m gutted that I won’t get the chance to see him. Fingers crossed he makes it over the Atlantic one day, or that I manage to make it back to New York while he’s in something.

And so I shall leave you with a beautiful reminder of exactly why I love Adam Lambert quite so much. He’s stunning, his music is gorgeous and his voice is just out of this world…

Peace, loVe loVe and happiness,

Back To My Boys

19 Jan

So, weirdly, I had a dream about Tommy Joe last week. I mean, it’s not that weird, given that I have his calendar by my bed (alongside the Take That one which is currently sporting a rather delicious picture of Gary B – only one more day til the big day! Woot!), have watched several Adommy videos pretty much every day for the last month and he is also currently playing the starring role in the background images on both my phone and my lap top. However, I don’t normally dream about fun stuff, so: weird.

To be fair, I rarely remember my dreams, but when I do they’re normally strange, nonsensical things that aren’t even worth remembering. The other night, however, was rather different. Not that I can recall much of it now, but I was in a bar somewhere when I ran into a rather intoxicated Tommy Joe. I believe I was trying to tell him how pretty he is, when he decided to kiss me. Only it was more of a lick (20th Century Boy at Glam Nation in London style, in case you were wondering… yes, I did watch that video the day before and you should watch it too – see below particularly the bit at around 1:02), which then turned into a rather steamy snog. Details are rather hazy now, sadly, especially since I’m certain that we didn’t stop at kissing, if ya know what I’m sayin’ *wink, wink, nudge nudge*.

Anyhoo, in other news (though not really that ‘other’), my Tommy Joe Ratliff hoodie finally showed up a couple of weeks ago. It’s so awesome that I spent most of last week barely resisting the temptation to go buy more stuff. I’ve already got the calendar (and now hoodie) from TJRmerch, but Angel Batz have some rather awesome stuff too and I wouldn’t want to play favourites so it would only have been fair for me to go splurge a bit more. Especially as it’s all for a good cause (all profits from both sites go to the Ratliff family). So, er, yeah… there are now three shirts on their way to me from Angel Batz… yay! It’s also probably a good thing that they didn’t redesign their PicturePerfect range until a couple of days ago or there might have been four on their way instead…

I still want the Adam Lambert calendar too, but I just cant justify the cost. If they’ve still got them in stock next time my dad goes to New York though, I’m getting one. Alternatively, I could spend inordinate amounts of time playing the new game on Adam’s FB page and trying to win (or finish in the top few), but I can’t really see that working out too well.

In actual other news, though still on the subject of America, there’s been a slight glitch in my beloved America Trip. My hostel in New York has changed ownership and as such, doesn’t fit the requirements I had when I booked it. Very disappointed as it was pretty much perfect, if a bit of a walk from the theatres. Fortunately, I now have a job again, so I can afford to spend a little more on accommodation, but it’s costing me a lot more. I’m still hoping desperately that my dad will be able to arrange to be there then, but I still need a back up. Which is costing me more for four nights than all seven (or possibly eight) theatre trips that I’m hoping to do (most of which will be top price Broadway tickets…). It hurts though. Partly because about five minutes after I booked, I realised I had a 10% off voucher, but it’s particularly because I will pretty much only be using the room to sleep, shower and store my stuff in. At that price, I feel like I need to spend at least a day sitting in my room, using their free wifi to stream youtube videos or something, just to get my money’s worth! Anyhoo, very frustrated by it all especially as I’ve still not heard back from the new hostel owners regarding my cancellation either, which isn’t too promising.

My evening did improve somewhat when the pre-sale tickets for Hair in Boston got released though! I have now booked top price (last night was painfully expensive – thank goodness I just got paid!) tickets for my first and last night in the city and I cannot WAIT! Steelicious, I’m coming to get you! Sort of. In a non-stalkerish, respecting him as an artist, kinda way. *ahem* Yay!

Anyhoo, I’m a bit torn over whether I should try and see Gavin Creel while I’m in Boston. He’s in Prometheus Bound at the ART in Cambridge, which I believe is only a ten minute taxi ride from where I’m staying. But it didn’t fit in with my Hair plans and I wasn’t willing to give them up, even for Gavin. Especially as he did a FB Q&A a few weeks back and said he was coming back to London this year. I could risk booking to see him on the Monday, but then if the tribe do a Be-In that day, there’s no way I would want to miss that. So, it’s not looking too promising at the moment, unfortunately. But still – HAIR!

Continuing on the topic of spending far too much money on tickets, I’ve been umming and ahhing over whether to go to the What’s on Stage Awards ceremony for a while now. I discovered this week that not only will Caissie Levy be performing, but also the boys from Departure Lounge (awesome in itself, but this means Liam Tamne – nuff said, really) and the Sheytoons (which, obviously, means Ramin Karimloo). So, yeah, I’m going… And, I may also have booked another GILT ticket for Love Never Dies, the weekend Joseph Millson is apparently off, which hopefully means I’ll get to see Dean Chisnall play Raoul again, this time from the fourth row of the stalls. I could definitely get used to these top tickets.

So, just in case I wasn’t excitable enough… next up is GB40… tomorrow!!! I’m trying not to think too much about it as I’ve been feeling sick for over a week now, stressing about what time to arrive, what to wear, what to take with me… etc. etc. But I have been getting myself reacquainted with Gary Barlow’s solo stuff and remembering quite how much I love listening to him sing. I’d forgotten how amazing ‘Lie to Me’ is. I need him to sing Forever Love, I’ve waited over ten years to hear that song live, but if he only sings one other solo number, I would love for it to be that. I would be very, very surprised if he did though.

Anyhoo, I shall stop there before I get myself all worked up again! How’s that for a post about everything and nothing in particular.

So, until next time,

K xx

PS. One. More. Day! Hell YES!

Adommy

3 Dec

So, latest obsession? Adommy all the way. I can’t seem to stop!

I was playing Band Hero at my friends today and I even ended up creating a ‘Tommy Joe’ character (though the hair isnt right and he, erm, has wings so actually looks more like veela!Draco, but that’s entirely beside the point), which distracted me so much on occasion that I missed notes – oops. (We also played ’20th Century Boy’ about 5 times, since it was Adam’s Encore in London. I think my friend might actually kill me if I mention the name Adam or Tommy again in his presence! Though on the plus, by the end I was actually doing reasonably well on medium guitar, which I’ve never managed to crack before (I’m more of the percussion persuasion - drums or bass).

So, er, yeah. My ‘productive’ day involved guitar/band hero, a smidgen of mariokart and a LOT of trawling t’internet/youtube for Adommy/Lambliff pics/videos. I think I actually fancy Tommy Joe Ratliff more than Adam Lambert, now. And I can’t work out where this has come from at all. I’ve never been remotely attracted to the rock/metal sorta look. The clothes are cool, but the tattoos, piercings, weird hair cuts… I mean, a mohican? Really? But then since the whole Steel/long hair thing, I really shouldn’t be surprised by myself anymore. Though, Tommy Joe is a very pretty boy. And if I realised one thing about my taste in men over the years, it’s that I like pretty boys. Macho pretty boys (stubble is hot), but pretty boys none-the-less. I mean, have you seen Orlando Bloom? Leo Dicaprio in the Romeo/Jack Dawson days? Even Steel is kinda pretty…

Anyway, I’m not really sure what this post is about (the Harry Potter 7.1 review is coming, I promise) beyond the fact that my latest obsession is overflowing what my head is capable of dealing with and this seems like a reasonably safe place to offload some of it. It’s a weird feeling that I can’t really describe. It’s like all I can think about, all I want to think about, is my latest obsession, and that’s fine (assuming it’s not getting in the way or something important). The problem is when a) I have no real outlet, or way of feeding the habit – like getting totally obsessed with someone on the last night of their tour *sigh* or b) when multiple obsessions are fighting for centre stage in my head – like Adam/Tommy/Adommy (I count that as one), Hair/Steel, Harry Potter and Take That. One person is physically incapable of obsessing over all of that at once. So my head isn’t best pleased with the fact that my heart seems to be trying it’s very best to love everything (in equally epic proportions) all at the same time! Thank goodness the next Twilight film isn’t out until next year. If Edward Cullen decided to try and muscle in on the obsession limelight, I might just explode.

Anyways, I think I’ve babbled on for long enough about my mental torment/insanity, so I shall leave you now, with one of my favourite videos to date – it actually took me ages to pick just one to include, there are quite a few delicious ones. It’s definitely worth checking out youtube for more by kcinkcity.

(Note: If you don’t like hot boys kissing, this is NOT for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya):

And if you’ve managed to stick with me this far and haven’t suffered an anime style nosebleed from the video above, I both congratulate you for staying with me and apologise for all the crazy.

So, until next time,

K xx

PS. If you like Adommy and haven’t seen the Amsterdam kiss…? Go. Watch. Now.  You have NO idea what you’re missing. Words can’t even describe how awesome it is. (There’s a lovely slow motion/multiple angles video of it by vivrelamour, for those who are interested.)

Don’t Trip Off The Glitz

30 Nov

Adam Lambert is, without doubt, a truly beautiful specimen of manhood. He is also a breathtaking singer and great entertainer.

I was desperate for Adam to bring his Glam Nation tour to the UK for months. Then he announed the London date and within a day I had my hands on one of the hotly coveted tickets. I couldn’t wait and even booked the day off work so that I could go early to queue. Unfortunately I’ve been so wrapped up in other stuff I’d all but forgotten the show and I’d not listened to the album in weeks. Yesterday was a rather stressful day anyway and to make matters worse it was also tube strike day (do NOT get me started on that, I’m still furious about it). Not sure what time to arrive, I ended up leaving earlyish with the intention of checking out the queue situation and then possibly going for a coffee if there was no need to wait in the cold. It took me over two hours to get there and by then there was no point in not joining the queue. In the end I waited for four hours in the freezing cold to get somewhere in around the fifth row, a fair bit off centre. Unfortunately, there was little more I could have done about it as the first four rows or so were made up of people with ridiculously expensive meet n greet tickets.

Complaints aside, I still had a very good spot and after an hour or so the feeling had returned to my toes, which helped a little. There wasn’t quite the same magic as when Take That are on stage, but even so, when Adam finally appeared most of my discomfort disappeared. He played pretty much the whole album and it was a great show, if a bit on the short side. I’d love to see him again in a few years (though obviously I’d love to see him again before then), when he has more material, in a big arena gig. He has so much potential with all the ‘glam’ stuff to put on a spectacular show. Shepherds Bush Empire, whilst lovely for it’s intimacy (I also saw Basshunter there last year) doesn’t really allow for much in the way of set or spectacle.

That said, I still loved it/him. I was actually totally blown away by his voice. I mean, I always knew he had some serious talent, but I had no idea he could sing so well live. I have to admit I was a little disappointed with a few songs, specifically ‘Soaked’. It’s one of my all time favourite tracks by any artist and I love the way he normally sings it live, with the big drawn out notes in the final rendition of the chorus. This time he did it differently and didn’t do any of that. Was just a little bit gutted. I also would have loved to hear ‘Time for Miracles’ and think given his whole ‘love’ theme, he should’ve included it, though I can’t find any record of him singing it live, so perhaps there are good reasons for it’s lack of inclusion. I would also have loved him to sing ‘Can’t Let You Go’ as well, as it’s such a beautiful song, but I always knew that was a long shot. (On that note, the way he said ‘love’ when he introduced the theme sounded like something straight out of ‘Hair’ and the two-finger peace sign seemed to be a bit of a theme too. Left me thinking that I’d love, love, LOVE to see him and Gavin Creel together – it would be too awesome for words!)

He made up for a whole lotta my grievances, however by snogging his bassist (again). Tommy Joe Ratliff is cute (or at least looks it when he’s all made up – edit: having seen more pictures since I started writing this last night, I have to say, he’s just plain cute, with or without the glam. In fact I have a bit of a crush on him too) and apparently straight, but he seems to spend a lot of time kissing and/or tongue duelling Adam. It’s sooo hot though! Especially the way Adam grabs Tommy’s hair and comes over all dominant *shivers*. I’ve been tempted to write a Drarry fanfic inspired by Adam for ages, involving glam!Harry doing a lot of strutting which drives lust-crazed!Draco insane. All this Adommy stuff is just adding fuel to the fire. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a band!Drarry fic before, but I think I’m going to have to write one and soon, before the mere thought of it melts my brain (second edit: This has now been started, with Adamesque!Harry and Tommyesque!Draco. Whether I ever finish it or not, however, is another matter). I actually spent far too much time watching Adommy vids on youtube today, but seriously… So. Damn. Hot.

I appear to have digressed somewhat… So, point: Adam = fabulous. I had an amazing time and it was definitely worth all the discomfort and the inevitable cold which I’m sure will manifest itself in the next couple of days. In fact, I got the impression that most of the people near me had seen the show at least once before, if not more, which left me wishing I’d splurged and gone to see him elsewhere as well. And of course I’ve been listening to his album practically non-stop since yesterday morning and watching youtube videos and drooling copiously over pics/vids of both Adam and Tommy (and Adommy) and I now wish I’d gotten back into him before the gig rather than after it, I think I’d have enjoyed it all a lot more if I’d been more excited/in the mood. What sucks the most is who knows when he’ll be back here again. (I’ve discovered that obsessing over British bands is so much easier/more fulfilling, simply down to their proximity.)

Somewhat surprisingly, I actually managed to take a few decent pictures (amongst the hundreds I seem to have of the camera belonging to the irriating woman stood in front of me) and I shall leave you with one of my favourites (a little blurry, but there’s just something I like about it) :
